I said these books were worth $499.
I lied.
They’re worth much more than that — which is why they’re free.
Here’s what happened.
I was working through the material and fielding calls from operators. And somewhere in the middle of one of those calls, I realized something I had been quietly wishing for the past 25 years:
I wished the operator on the other end of the line had a better understanding of the fundamentals of what they were asking me.
Not because they weren’t smart. Not because they weren’t serious. But because the deeper, more meaningful work I could actually do with them was gated by whether they had the base read on the fundamentals underneath the question they were asking.
Every call started with a 30-minute fundamentals catch-up before we could get to the real work. Every call had a ceiling on how far we could go because the fundamentals hadn’t been laid.
That’s the tipping point. That’s when I realized I had priced these books like a product when they’re not a product. They’re the fundamentals layer. They’re the base read every operator needs before the deeper work becomes possible.
$499 was honest work. Then honest work stopped being enough.
The books are free. Every volume. Every operator. Permanently.
Here’s what happens next.
The bar on operator-to-operator conversations rises. When two operators talk shop and both of them are reading from the same fundamentals, the conversation stops being about symptoms and starts being about physics. That is a different industry.
The bar on operator-to-consultant conversations rises. When an operator picks up the phone to call me, we can start where the fundamentals leave off — not spend the first half of the call laying them.
And the deeper work becomes possible. Because knowing the fundamentals is where the work starts. It is not where the work ends. Even with the deepest read on every fundamental in these books, operators will still need help implementing the work in their specific operation, on their specific stage, with their specific cast, against their specific numbers.
That is what I do. That is what these books were never going to replace.
But now the fundamentals are the price of entry to the conversation — and the price of entry is zero.
Read them. Use them. Send them to every operator you know.
Oh — and one more thing.
The first volume, Perspective, is done. The second volume, Product, is done. The third volume, People, is done. Along with their individual fieldbooks. So 6 books up and ready for you to use — and 4 more coming, and then some.
And the Dictionary is live, growing, and cross-referenced across the whole framework.
The mission is bigger than the price tag. Always was. I finally caught up to it.
