A structural discipline for checking the ceiling on the operator’s own read, run in sequence across three positions: the Devil’s Advocate — external attack on the position; the Operator Read — internal logic; and the Third Position — reconciliation. Without the structure, the internal-read ceiling goes unchecked.

Explanation

Every operator has a read on their own decisions, and every operator’s read has a ceiling — a point past which they cannot see their own blind spots, because blind spots are, definitionally, invisible from inside the position that has them.

The three lenses force the ceiling into view by requiring the operator to occupy positions they don’t naturally hold. Devil’s Advocate attacks the operator’s own position as if arguing against it professionally. Operator Read states the internal logic honestly, without the attack. Third Position sits above both and reconciles what survives the attack with what the internal logic actually needed.

Run in sequence, not simultaneously — the attack has to land before the reconciliation can mean anything. An operator who skips straight to Third Position without running the Devil’s Advocate first is reconciling a position that was never actually tested.
