Explanation

Borrowing contract language — offer, acceptance, consideration — is deliberate. It frames the Guest relationship as something with actual structure rather than a vague feeling of goodwill. The offer is the operator’s standing invitation to build a relationship beyond the transaction. The acceptance is the Guest choosing to return rather than treating each visit as a one-off. The consideration is the accumulating value both sides deposit over time — the operator’s above-baseline care and recognition, the Guest’s loyalty, forgiveness of occasional missteps, and willingness to spend at a level a purely transactional relationship wouldn’t support.

[The Hospitality Contract] only works if both sides keep depositing. An operator who stops investing once a Guest is “loyal” is treating the contract as already fulfilled rather than ongoing, and the relationship decays the same way any account does when deposits stop and withdrawals continue. The Guest, for their part, only keeps depositing consideration if the operator’s side of the ledger stays visibly active.
