Working Definition:
The invisible evaluation instrument the operator runs inside an informal R&D process. Built on historical success thresholds, lagging metrics, and feel-based assessment weighted toward what worked before. The operator is not aware he is running a scorecard — the instrument is invisible, which is what makes it dangerous. Because it cannot be examined, it cannot be reformed. Any Road 2 move that cannot clear a Road 1 instrument gets killed in evaluation before it ever proves itself. The informal diagnostic does not produce bad decisions — it produces incremental ones, structurally, every time.
