Explanation

The bottleneck isn’t the problem. It’s the operator standing in front of the problem with the same thinking that produced it. Experience is the raw material — Einstein #1 says you don’t get knowledge any other way. But raw experience alone doesn’t move you forward; Edison’s contribution is the discipline of elimination, running through what fails until what’s left is what works.

The second Einstein truth is the one that actually breaks the bottleneck. The operator who returns to the same problem with the same lens will produce the same outcome, dressed differently. The lens has to change before the problem does. That’s not a motivational point — it’s structural. The thinking that got you to the wall is not the thinking that gets you through it.

The three-part structure gives the operator a repeatable move: gather the experience, eliminate what fails, then deliberately change altitude before trying again. Skip the third step and the operator just keeps hitting the same wall harder.
