The structural decision-point at which any [Two Roads] fork resolves — the moment where by-design vs. by-default is decided, per actor, per decision, per fork. Not abstract: the literal moment a specific cast member faces a specific decision and the interaction either executes the designed Guest Experience or defaults to transactional behavior. Abbreviated POE.
Explanation
Every shift is made of hundreds of these points, most of them invisible to the operator who is not looking for them. A Guest asks a question, a plate comes back wrong, a table wants to linger past close — each is a Point Of Experience, and each one resolves to Road 1 or Road 2 in real time, whether or not anyone is watching.
The value of naming the point is diagnostic. Without it, the operator sees outcomes — a good table, a bad table — and has no way to trace the outcome back to the specific decision that produced it. With it, the operator can walk the stage and read the points as they resolve, catching drift toward Road 1 before it shows up as a pattern.
[Point Of Experience] sits on the spine between [Two Roads] and [By Design Or By Default]: the road is the architecture, the point is where the architecture gets tested, and the design-or-default choice is what the cast member does at the point.
Canonical operating mechanism of [The Summers Principle]. The principle names the law; this entry names where the law resolves at the point of contact on the Guest and actor side.
